EVENTS & APPEARANCES
The Florence Festival of Books in Florence, Oregon is an annual event. I have been invited to host an author table and occasionally make a presentation to attendees every year beginning in 2013 and continuing annually.
I’ve been doing lots of stuff, just not recording it. 1) I did a reading from Idyllic Perú on 2/13/2018 at the Waldport Library: 2) I was invited back to do a reading to community children from “In The Spooky Forest” on 3/8/2018; 3) I have been asked to judge a writing contest for middle school and high school students with 36 entries.
The “Authors Table” at the Lane County Fair in Eugene, Oregon is also an annual event in which I am asked to participate and usually do for various hours during the daily operation of the Fair. I’ve been doing lots of “Author stuff” (mostly finishing Idyllic Perú and getting it published). Now I’ll be at the Oregon Authors Table of the Lane County Fair for a couple of days. “Author Night” at the Bandon Library on 7/20/2015. Speaking on “An Unorthodox Guide to Authoring” and reading selections from published books to a crowd of about 25 Bandonites (Bandonians?). Very enthusiastic reception!

Thank you again for the presentation you gave at AUTHOR NIGHT at Bandon Library on Monday, July 20, 2015!
It was good that you gave a bit of background on each book before doing your reading. This helped us to understand what you’d written and why. One comment we heard was that each book selection you chose really made us want to read the rest of the book. One person who has never before bought a book from a “Visiting Author” bought three of yours! Another comment was that you have great comic timing. Sometimes just a pause or a look was enough to make the entire room laugh. You filled the time well, the time passed quickly, and everyone was so glad to have attended. You encouraged us all to tell our own stories.
We hope you enjoyed your stay in Bandon. We appreciate your time preparing and presenting such a wonderful Author Night program.
